Things can only get better.
No, unfortunately for some, D:Ream aren’t headlining alongside muse, but their famous lyric described the first Leeds and Reading headliner announcement perfectly.
With the first release announcing Muse, Major Lazer and Bastille as the three biggest artists, I was initially disappointed. As much as I loved Supermassive Blackhole in Twilight when I was 12, something about the sc-fi singers didn’t tickle my festival fancy.
So now the second headliner announcement is out, all doubts that were had (not that there was any, because since when did music ever matter at a music festival) have now been erased.
Now Kasabian have been named the second headliner, things are looking up for the duo festival.
Along with Kasabian the second announcement brings Fatboy Slim, Flume, Two Door Cinema Club and many more to Reading and Leeds 2017.
Only telling my friend days before that I’d love to see Fatboy Slim, it was like the festival fairies had read my mind and granted my wish. However, seeing TDCC on the poster shocked me a little bit after seeing them at the festival last year. As much as I love the band, you could say that the organisers were recycling last year’s acts, as fellow second announcement Ratboy also played the festival in 2016.
The majority of the rumours so far have turned out to be true, so if it carries on in that way Eminem is set to be the final headliner. Let’s hope the final announcement will make the line up anywhere near what it was last year!
